How about a plugin to "flag" specific mp3 titles?

Hi all,

I've got an idea of a plugin I'd really find very practical and that's in principle very similar to a playlist, as far as I can tell, not being an expert:

What I mean is a way to "flag" specific mp3 titles you're hearing for later rendering - having several prepared lists and putting just the title in one would be perfect.
The background is this: I often have internet radio and a Streamripper running. Now that's a nice thing because you get the pieces packaged in mp3 format and ready to go. Just sometimes they're not correctly cut, so you've got a bit of blabla in front or behind a piece of music or a piece of another music title.
It's easy enough to cut out those bits using a cutting program, the problem is just remembering exactly which titles were like that because when you're listening, you're often nowhere near your PC and you don't have pen and paper and I don't feel like using the databox plugin to note the title, that would be too cumbersome. So, if you could have all the titles that need to be reworked listed, you could just find them on your PC and cut out the bits that are not wanted.
Would it be possible to program something like that in the next builds?

I love this idea.  A lot of times I come across a song that is too quiet, or too loud, and I'd love to up or down the volume, but by the time I've gotten to my computer I've forgotten all about it.  If, at the time, I could just "mark it" and then every week or so check that list...  Yeah, I'd love it.

Couldn't you do exactly this with the playlist catalog?  Make a playlist named "flagged_tunes" or something similar, and then just open flagged_tune.m3u when you get back to the PC so see what songs you've flagged.

Reading through this post, I was going to make the exact suggestiong that Febs did. The Playlist Catalog is 100% perfect for this idea.

What about the Favorites plug-in?
Either in its own right or a bit of editing to make another one with a different output file

Hm, I wonder if a plugin can know the filename it is stored in (like argv[0]) so you just have to copy it to new names to make new list files

multiplex: the playlist catalog is way better than the favorites plugin, because it can handle multiple playlists easily right out of the box.

I just wanted to add the word: RATINGS to this thread.
For those of us that are rating obsessed   wouldn't this be a work around?
You could make playlists for 1-5 stars and then view the m3u's on your PC and batch tag the ratings.
