Where's the Podcast Support
« on: September 09, 2006, 02:13:13 AM »
I recently installed Rockbox, and love it. The only thing I am missing is podcast support. Are there any plug-ins or anything that provide iPod like Podcast support?

What I am looking for is basically a playlist for each podcast sorted by newest first, also mark podcasts as listened to when you are done, and keep track of where you are in the podcast if you stop listening and come back later.

I have not seen any documentation about support for this in Rockbox. This is a must have for me. ;)

None as yet. I guess nobody with the skill to write it wants it enough. It might be worth a feature request (see link on left).

You could just use iTunes to put the podcasts on and just listen to them after booting to the original firmware.

All you'd have to do is make a plugin for your syncing tool to properly update your podcast playlists and store them in the right folders.

Then, Rockbox's bookmarking features could take care of the rest, really.

CodeMonkeyX,
Try this I think it is just what you are looking for. It will put a small client type program on your MP3 player which will sync to your podcasts(when you connect to the PC) ,that are controlled by the main podcast program on your PC.
This works like a champ and I use it all the time.
Hope this helps.

Thanks I will look into it. The only problem I see is that I am looking for a Linux solution too. :) But that looks like it might work well when I am in Windows.
