Help installing rockbox on Mac OS X

Hi I'm trying to install rockbox on my 30GB Video iPod but when I get to step d) where you have to type "./diskdump -r /dev/disk1 bootpartition.bin" I get an error that says:  "Bad CPU type in executable".  Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?  I followed all the steps before it and it still doesn't work.

I'm guessing you have an x86 Mac and the binary is for PPC.  Or maybe the reverse.

I don't know if there is an x86 binary out there, and I don't really know how to compile one (I don't have a Mac).

Bumps are not really necessary on these boards, and really shouldn't be done less than a 24 hours after your last post.

Is it an Intel Mac or a PowerPC Mac?

Then you will not be able to run the PPC binary.  You have 3 options:

Use a PPC MacOSX machine and follow the OSX instructions.

Use a Windows machine (or boot into windows on your machine) and follow the Windows instructions.

Download the source code from the MacOSX instructions page, extract it, run 'make' and hope that the makefile is x86 clean.  If it compiles, you could then run that version on your system.  If you get this to work, please upload the x86 binary so that other Intel-Mac owners can use it.
