iPod Nano 4GB don't have 'hardware equalizer' ?

<< < (2/3) > >>

saratoga:
How does the hardware equalizer work?

Llorean:
The hardware equalizer is part of the Wolfson codec (audio chip) that the 5G iPod uses. The other iPods don't have this hardware, so only have the software Equalizer and Bass and Treble settings.

Static-X:
oh okay.. so there is no other way to get my nano to have the hardware equalizer right ?

Atheistic Freedom:
The final answer is "No."  ;)

In my opinion (I listened through a Nano a few times), if I heard what the Hardware EQ did (almost day and night difference with clarity, brings forth vocals so clear and crisp even on old Beatle's records, widens soundstage, shows you so many lost layers of low, mids, and highs that you took for granted in the mud that is regular SQ), I'd get a 5G ASAP.

Seriously, my iPod now beats the stuffing out of my Audigy 2 ZS.  I only listen to my music through the iPod now.

Static-X:
yea tt's wad my fren told me, hardware eq is better :(
