tagcache question
deadlysyphen:
Is there a way to prevent tagcache from getting the data from a specific folder? Because I have a folder with a thousand random songs, but I don't want all those artists, albums .etc tagcached, because I don't listen to all those songs, yet. I might eventually keep some of the songs, because I plan to sort through them, but as of now I don't want them tagcached. I just want what I listen to tagcached. Anyone know how to do this?
Yotto:
I don't use tagcache, but I believe Rockbox respects hidden folders using the period to start their name.
Try putting your unsorted/unwanted/unwhatever music all in a directory named .something (.unsorted for example) and see if that works.
Then post, becuase I will be using tagcache soon and I'd like this functionality as well :D
deadlysyphen:
Um, how do you rename something with a "." in front of it? I keep getting an error "Rename" You must type a file name. I can put "."s in the middle of the file name of a folder, but not at the front...
Llorean:
TagCache searches through all folders, including hidden folders, I believe.
I don't believe there's any way to force tagcache to ignore a folder yet. What you *could* do is give them all a strange tag, like set their year to "3000" then edit the tagnavi.config so it filters out all songs from the year 3000. It's not the best solution, but it could help. They'd be in the tagcache still, but you would not see them.
Yotto:
Because it probably won't work, this information is likely useless, but for the record, you'd have to make the folder from your comptuer, after mounting your DAP as a drive (the same way you connect it to transfer music)
