ApeV2 tags are only supported in wavpack I believe.

As well, I don't believe custom tags are supported at all at this time.

  • ROCKbox for purchasable devices should be the goal

When I remember correctly, there was a patch at flyspray which enabled the usage of custom ID3 tags.

You have to search there...  ;)

But beware: the patch is rather old and I'm pretty sure, it'll not work without adaption to newer CVS...

Well, it is rather old. I'm using it, with 2006-06-30 daily build, although by then (end of June) I had to do some changes manually for it to work.

I am, therefore, also looking forward to a newer version of this patch. I use for Vorbis files.

I really think this shouldn't be a patch at all and just integrated... I mean look at foobar, one of the main reasons people use it is you can set columns ui up to do any tags you wish.

Seems like something that would be on the top of the list, not like its a big thing code wise...

just a thought.

any takers ? =DD

And with those magic words you have just offered your coding services.

It's my patch, it's here
http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/2616
and yes, I haven't updated in a while. It probably won't be integrated into Rockbox until we are able to store arbitrary lengths of metadata (including everyone's favorite...album art) in the file buffer. I'll try to update the patch when I get the time (and motivation). But it doesn't add apev2 tag support for mp3's (that's another patch).
