well i think its a natural question to ask considering the guy had exactly the same problems I did, and because the errors started after i my experience with rockbox, it is clearly involved. Especially after uninstalling my iPod still uses the "Do not disconnect" signs that came with Rockbox, even after the firmware had been removed, so its fairly logical to come to the rockbox forum for a little help, so thanks for your assistance Llorean

Febs:
That's a logical fallacy.  The fact that one thing precedes another does not necessarily mean that the first is the cause of the second.

It rained this morning.  Then I drank a cup of coffee.  Therefore, the rain caused me to drink coffee.

Anyone who knows me knows that this is not a logical conclusion, because simply waking up causes (or requires) me to drink coffee.   ;)

I think that Llorean's point is that your post suggests that your iPod worked properly for a period of time, and then started to have problems.  Is that in fact the case?  If so, it would suggest that the problem may be something other than Rockbox.

crazyhorse:
I think we could do without the Humean account of constant conjunction dont you?.
Lets just use basic empiricism shall we and say that in my experience if someone has an exact problem that I have, it would seem logical to consult them about said problem, especially if they have managed to fix it no?
Of course causation can never entirely be proven, unless of course if you are a determinist which it seems you are not.
Besides my question we aimed at theory_87, so if Llorean had no real advice, was it really worth posting?

L:
No it is NOT the same thing. You are just being silly and making the problem harder to solve for you.

I'll offer a piece of advice, try the HP USB formatting tool.

Llorean:
It's not the exact problem that you have simply because the circumstances are quite different. You're both getting the "Generic Apple Error Screen." Since you get it for ANYTHING that goes wrong inside of Apple's portion of the software, whether it's Rockbox related or not, the odds are statistically very good that your two problems are unrelated.
