Tag Cache: One day possible to view "all tracks" sorted by album?
SilleeString:
I'm just curious about the future possibility to be able to view all tracks in Tag Cache and have it be sorted in order by album, instead of the current "all tracks in alphabetical order" setup. I'm just asking out of curiosity, since the only real use for this would be if I was listening to my music on random, but decided to turn random off because I wanted to hear the rest of a given album straight up. I have a feeling I worded this vaguely. Anyway, thoughts?
Llorean:
All Tracks seems likely to stay in alphabetical order because it's near impossible to find an individual song in "All Tracks in Album order first" order, especially if you have many that aren't even from albums. Assuming you actually have your files properly sorted on disk, this is pretty easily solved by inserting all songs into a playlist, then you can listen to that playlist, and if you want to finish out an album, turn shuffle off, as you said.
SilleeString:
At the moment I have my music files set up the way itunes places them on the ipod, so the playlist idea won't work I'm afraid. But I understand what you're saying and I figure it's not possible, let alone practical to code. All in all, it's just fine, and thanks for your quick response as always.
Llorean:
What might be nice is, if in the future, "All Tracks" just expanded the subcategories rather than showing a listing of all tracks. So if you went into the "Albums" list, then did all tracks, it sorted the tracks by album. If you went into the "Artist" category then did all tracks, it did them all sorted by Artist THEN Album THEN track number.
It seems that's just a matter of recursively following the static searches through, and seems like a good idea.
SilleeString:
Ahh yes, actually that sounds better than my idea ;)
