Using apple firmware equalizers in rockbox.
« on: September 01, 2006, 10:11:11 PM »
is there a way to use the preset equalizers from the apple firmware in rockbox?  i really want to be able to use the treble reducer from the apple firmware for my fm transmitter which puts a little to much emphasis on the s's and ch's and the treble reducer setting takes care of that problem.  i've messed around with the treble settings in rockbox and screwed around with the hardware equalizer but i couldnt get anything to work nearly as good as the treble reducer in the apple firmware.  any help would be appreciated.

No.  Though the Rockbox EQ should do anything the Apple one can.

You could try checking in itunes to see what effect the treble reducer preset has on each of the EQ sliders and then use that information to duplicate it in the RB eq.

Try this setting for the hardware EQ.

Low Shelf & Peak Filter 1: Gain 0db
Peak Filter 2: Center Freq: 1.1kHz, Bandwidth: Wide, Gain -2db
Peak Filter 3: Center Freq: 4.1kHz, Bandwidth: Wide, Gain -4db
High Shelf: Cut Off Freq: 9.0kHz, Bandwidth: Wide, Gain -6db

If that doesn't help just start reducing the gains to see what become comfortable.
