iPod questions
W00DY:
First of all, rockbox really rocks !
I used it for years on my Archos and I love it
Today I received my iPod photo color and installed rockbox right away.
The latest version 31/08 crashed a few times so I took a build from a week or so older.
This works pretty good but I have some questions
Sometimes when playing (192kbit) it freezes for like half a second
Even with the buffer set to a minute or more and the iPod sitting on my desk. Maybe try a newer build ?
Is there any way to connect USB without going in USB mode
That way the battery is charged but it can still play music
On my old Archos I was used to be able to hit "play" to resume my playlist
That feature is gone on the iPod. Should I now use bookmarks or is there another way to manually resume a playlist ?

Use a WPS without peakmeters. Turn off the graphic equalizer.

Hold the "Menu" button as you plug into USB.

No it is not. Hitting play will resume if there is anything to be resumed. Make sure that you shut down properly to ensure that resume information is saved.

Thanks Febs for you fast reply
I'm going to try it right away

I'll try all that as well
I also noticed that loading the ID3 tag etc takes a while
Does this mean that this iPod has limited CPU power
Less then my old Archos FM recorder ?

Most things are not well optimized on the Ipod, so they run much slower then they should.
W00DY:
I found the wiki and it answered a lot of questions
Looks like I should have started there and not here
There is still one thing I don't understand.
You guys did great work but things still need to be optimized.
Am I correct that there is way too much HD activity now ?
With this amount of cache it should only run every so many minutes
Or is there a mistake in my settings
