4G locked up - any suggestions?

I installed rockbox-ipod4gray-20060830 on my 4g ipod tonight and the sound is fantastic!!!

The problem that I am experiencing is that the ipod is completely locked :(

I have tried select play and select menu many many times and the ipod is still locked.  The longest that I held the keys was about 2 minutes.

It has locked on a play screen.

The ipod has been updated using iPod Updater 2006-06-28.

My only though now is to let the battery run down overnight and try to get into the ipod in the morning.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Thanks,

JMS

You are supposed to hit and hold select + menu NOT select + play.

The point is I tried the correct key sequence and then every other imaginable sequence to unlock the ipod...

I will check back in after it has charged for a couple of hours on the usb port...

Update:  Right now it is bricked  :(  I am going to let the battery drain and try it again...

Llorean:
What do you mean it's "bricked?"

If it's turning on to *any* point at which you can get it to drain battery, it's not bricked. In fact by definition, bricked means non-recoverable, so please don't use the word unless you're certain it cannot be fixed.

In my definition "bricked" means unusable...  When the battery completely discharges and you hookup the ipod to a usb port let it charge for a couple of hours and the user interface is still locked up with no way into the system then it is BRICKED!!!

Edit:  I however will keep trying and will report back any success...
