Music no longer organized
« on: August 29, 2006, 01:10:40 PM »
I am having trouble with with playlist, and genre. I can see all my music , but when I want to play my music by genre it only shows 4 artist. I checked the manual, am I overlooking something. I have all my music  in itunes by genre, artist, playlist. Thanks for any help.

try rebuilding your tagcache database. Sounds like something went wrong with that.

It's in the manual.

edit; added link...

Just a slight nitpick. The wiki is not the manual.

The manual would be this: http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-ipodvideo/rockbox-buildch4.html#x7-380004.2

1; make sure your mp3s are on disk.
2;put the latest build on it
3;remove tagcache* files from under /.rockbox
4;boot rockbox, initialize tagcache (perhaps reboot...)
5;rock on!

Unfortunately, the format when I put it in itunes was M4a. I converted my music to Mp3 and it works like a charm. Thanks for all your help
