Jon_:
What's going on here the wps doesn't work properly anymore. When playing a audio file it does display any information at all just the wps background. I've reseted settings, re-download the package, and reapplied the theme but nothing seems to work. So i'm wondering if you can post the old rockbox jclick wps theme at some location that can be downloadable, i prefer that than this current one.

Thanks
Take Care,
Jon

Did you redownload the themes too? which build ver are you using? the ipod photo?
Thanks,
Julius

I would like to know if you can post the old wps files at another location cause the old jclick wps is compattable with the senab jbuild, and no offence but i prefer using senab's build beucase of the extra features that is provided with it.

Take Care,
Jon

Sweet Spot:
Hey Julius, I just got back from Hungary a few days ago,  and just wanted to comment on the new themes and build. Looks great ! Beautiful work as usual sir. I decided to start fresh with your latest build, and by that I mean deleted my entire RB directory and all other RB stuff, because I originally downloaded and installed Senab's build on your recommendation (from your site), but it wound up being a minor disaster.

For some reason, after Sinab's beautiful boot screen finished, I'd try to go into the menu, but after that, everything would just lock up on me, and I could actually hear the hard drive platter making a very strange sound as I tilted the iPod in a back and forth motion. The only way I got the iPod to do anything, was by booting into the Apple firmware, so I just decided to wipe out that build and start fresh with yours.

At first, there seemed to be a problem with how the fonts were lining up, but that was yesterday's build, and today's, seems just fine, except for one minor thing, which I haven't experienced with a build for a long time (probably due to the fact that I was holding on to an older and very stable build). Every once in a while, I experience "hiccups", which is probably related to a buffering issue (?), I'm guessing. But this might be wrong too, because on one song in particular, it just kept doing it over and over and over, so I switched tracks.

Later on though, it happened only one time, in the middle of a song, and this behavior occurs I believe with one song, about every 3 or 4 songs, to my recollection. I'll have to do a more thorough investigation to be sure though.

Fake Edit: I actually had to hard reboot the ipod, (menu+select) because while playing a song, I had no control of anything. The backlight would come on when I touched the scroll wheel, but I wasn't able to perform any actions. Looking at the WPS showed that the song playing still had about 20 seconds to go, when in reality, it had already finished playing, and was on to the next song already. I'll try again with the same song to make sure it isn't the file its self, but I've played that file before without error in the past so...  In any case, I'm now listening to that same song which had constant hiccuping issues before, and yes, the same thing is now happening. I'm going to transfer the songs to my PC and see if the same things happen there. (though I already have them on the pc, I wonder if they've been corrupted ?)

Lastly, an aesthetic issue which you may or may not agree with about the design of the themes. On each one, at the bottom is an icon for "play" and "pause". IMO the order in which they're represented, is backwards. For instance, when a song is playing, it shows the pause icon, and when on pause, it shows the play icon. To me, that's a bit misleading/confusing, which in turn becomes a bit annoying (just because I"m anal retentive about some things) because I think it should be the other way around, but maybe that's just me ?

Fake edit #2:  There also seems to be a big lag problem now. As I'm attempting to access my list of songs by pressing the select button, nothing happens for at least 10 seconds. The lag is also affecting how fast I'm able to increase or decrease the volume or just navigate in general.

(I was going to ask different stuff now, but think I'll reserve those questions for my next post, so instead, my final question for THIS post is, I JUST noticed that the volume now actually goes to +6 dB rather than to just 0 dB when you turn it all the way up. (output through my stereo) Why's that ?

I hope I didn't rant for too long. Thanks for any answers you can give.

Doug

Hi Jon,

I know I answerd you this question in PM, but just so others know it to, I don't have the old wps-es, but to make the new ones compatible with the old Senab's builds, just remove the "%s" tags from the *.wps files and everything should work fine.

Cheers,
Julius
