I have a folder that I set aside solely for my unsorted and single tracks and yesterday when I was scrolling (while music was playing) through my music files in that folder, rockbox just completely froze up.  This problem was one that could replicate pretty much by browsing back to the folder and when I approached a certain track, it would freeze up everytime.  I connected my ipod to my computer and found the mp3 file that "made" rockbox to freeze up and noticed that the file name was longer than my other files so I simply re-named it shorter.  Now the problem seems fixed but my question is, does the rockbox have some sort of limit on how long the file name of an mp3 file can be before it "freezes" up?  Sorry for the long "novel" but any help would be appreciated.  In the meantime, I will be re-installing the theme using Senab's build.

Hi John,

Could you please test out something? please try to download one of the official rockbox builds  (not Senabs because those include my patches too) and try if it freezes with that too, if not please give me more info on the song name, for e.g. write it down so I can rename one of my songs to the same name and test around because I think it has something to do with my new patches, so if I had something to test with I may be able to fix it.

Thanks in advance!
Julius

Did you check out the wps documentation? you can have images for the rating too, joshPod theme hase the same tag implemented, but anyway, as I said before it seems this is not implemented yet into the rockbox cvs, so you have to or help implemeting it or wait till someone else does.

Julius

Hello Julius, I'm again

I find your 0830 Build problem.

I hold the Play/Stop button to turn off my Ipod.

But my Ipod isn't turned off.

and display "data abort" message like that.

I don't know how to shut down.

So... I just back to Bootloader srceen and select "sleep"..

Hi Hangout,

It's not a build specific problem, it happens somtimes with the latest official cvs builds too, or at least that's what I heard, anyway, I never noticed this problem, but thanks for the notification.

Anyway, here is a thread which may help you:

If you use my builds you won't see them because I haven't included the album art patch in my builds, so please try to use Senab's builds.

Hey just a small problem when playing a song file and when your viewing the playback screen the long text of the title doesn't scroll, i don't know if this has been reported before so very sorry if it has, do you know if you can make that change so that we don't only see part of the song name.

Thanks a lot Julius ur the best!,

Hi Jon,

Thanks, I'm happy you like it, regarding the scrolling problem, yeah, I know, I wasn't able to finish that but I hope in the next few week I will have the time to fix it.

Four things

1) Thanks for your hard work! I love the simplicity and love how the text is bigger than in your other themes. Keep this trend going!

2) The repeat mode is covered in the quick menu that shows what shuffle mode, what show files mode, and what repeat mode you're on.

3) Please change it so that if there is no album art, that there be no default cover art, and instead have the song info centered. I just think that the theme has more flow if there isn't a useless picture taking up half the screen.

4) Of course I make this request with the utmost respect of what you think looks good, want you to make this stylistic preference last on your to-do list, and would not mind if it were not implemented. And thanks in advance for any consideration of my requests/input!

NP, happy you like it, and yes, I will try to keep this trend going on :)

Yeah, I know, it is because of the custom_display_width, but it will be fixed in my next release.

Good idea, the only problem is that I will have to redo the whole wps-es for this and that way I will have to have two separated packages (one with albumart and on without) and it would take twice the time to update them if there is something to fix as id does it right now, so I would prefer to spend this time with fixin/implementing scrolling text for the customline patch, that why you won't have problems even with long song titles.

I thank you for your ideas/feedback, I will try to do them as soon as I have some free time.

My Problem:

I apply jClix (or jBlackglass for that matter).
Everything goes swell until i try and shut the ipod down.
I hold the Play/Pause button for 5 seconds and the [Shutting Down] screen apprears.
Then, nothing. The hard drive is spinning (rather, I can hear it if i put the player up to my ear) and the screen is frozen.
I cannot press any other buttons and must reset (menu+select)
The theme then loads with no problems, but still cannot be shut off.
I tried just using the .wps theme, and this seemed to work, as I could still shut down the ipod.

I am using the latest Senab build for 30 gb ipod video. I tried going back to an older Senab build when the themes used to work (i.e. shut down) but no luck.

So my question, is it possible that a theme can do this to rockbox? (even when the build is built specifically for this theme)

If anyone has experience this, leave a response please.

-Soko

Edit: I redownloaded the themes for the 4th time and now it can shut down. I still don't know what could've happened. Anyways, great work pijulius!

I hope the problem is not with this theme, but I have been getting several major errors.
1)The data abort message when shutting down
2)Doesn't display some of my properly formatted cover art
3)It freezes for a second while scrolling through the menu
4)Other various shutdown errors
any help would be appreciated.
