Play Selected First does not work

Hi. I just bought a nano and installed the latest daily build of Rockbox on it, after waiting too long for a player with native ogg and gapless support. Rockbox on my nano is pretty sweet, with good sound, but I am having problems with the Play Selected First function.

The settings are as follows:
General Settings>File View>Show Files>ID3 Database
General Settings>Playback>Shuffle>Yes
General Settings>Playback>Repeat>Off
General Settings>Playback>Play Selected First>Yes
Tag Cache is initialized and updated

With the above settings, when I go to and selected any track, I expect that track to play as the first in a shuffle of all of my songs. Instead, some other track plays as the first in a shuffle, as if Play Selcted First were turned off. Please help me make it work properly.

this seems to be related to TagCache. When using the file view I can't reproduce this behaviour while I got the same when using TagCache. The funny thing: I updated my build (which was only a couple of hours ago, no changes to TagCache was made) and wasn't able to reproduce it anymore. Try clearing your settings and updating.

Hmm, thanks for the reply. You are probably right in saying that this problem has something to do with TagCache; I cannot reproduce this behaviour when using the file view either.

Could you tell me exactly what you did to update your build? I extracted the new daily build (which seemed exactly the same as the daily build before) of .rockbox and rockbox.ipod onto my Nano and initialized TagCache again, but it did nothing. The track I chose to play is still not the one actually played by the Nano. Please tell me what steps I am missing in "clearing my settings and updating".

I simply extracted the latest cvs build. Maybe you got yesterday's build? The dailies are generated sometime at night (european time), so please try again with a cvs build or a "new" daily (as I guess we should now have a new daily compared to the one you had installed at the first place). I did nothing more. Also, you could try removing all tagcache files (/.rockbox/*.tcd) and resetting the players settings.

It worked! Using the newest CVS build and resetting rockbox seemed to do the trick. Thanks for the help.
