Run program (Plugin) At startup and gui_syncsplash help

is it possible to make it so it runs a plugin at startup, ive searched around and i didnt find anything, so it either hasnt been done yet, or been talked about much =S


and i would also like to add that when using a dark WPS the splash seams to always be black text on the black WPS background. is there a way to change it so that the splash uses the forground/background colours? because that would be cool

I don't really see the use of running a plugin at startup. What were you thinking of this for?

well, my original idea was to run a locking program (password protection for rockbox) but it could also be used for running a small cleanup at start up.
but the ,most recent idea came to me as i put about 6 new wps on my iriver, they all use the same wps, but with diferent backgrounds, i was thinking that you could make a plugin that ran at startup and chose a random wps (from the list u can make) and it will make it display, i know it would take a long time to start up but it would be cool (for me anyway)

but i dunno, maybe my ideas are just too stupid (or useless)

but what about making the splash screen using foregound and background colours, that way i could see what the messages say

Actually Rockbox can do that.

Rename a plugin of your choice to "autostart.rock" and place it on the plugins folder.
Next time Rockbox will initialise and fire up the plugin named "autostart.rock".

If you check more closely, you will discover that the autostart code is disabled. You have to build your own Rockbox where you remove the comments from #define AUTOROCK in main.c.

Ah well, at least this qualifies as a "requires minimal coding skills to add to a custom build" style problem.
