Since the only legal way to get a gameboy ROM onto Rockbox is to own the cartridge, I suggest you look in the instruction manual for the game to see how that game saves.

Since you've changed the topic entirely, it's now absolutely meaningless. Doom saves in its menus, jewels in different menus, rockblox doesn't save, etc.

If you mean in rockboy, then you flip the hold switch one then off(assuming you have an ipod), then go to save game, then type out your file name, and hold select when your done and it should Save. Then the next time, when you start up just hit the hold switch on and off and select the save you wish to load.
