Colors distorted in rockbox?

When rockbox boots the rockbox logo's colors are distorted. Also any picture, WPS & some plugins as well. I've tried a few builds same result.  Its an Ipod photo/color with a recently replaced screen. I've installed rockbox on a few players just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the screen work outsid of rockbox?  In the ipod firmware?

On first blush, sounds like the screen replace didn't take all that well.

Yeah screen works great with apple firmware & Loader 2

I had a similar problem when upgrading from one of the unofficial builds to the latest daily. Colors in the theme/WPS were a little different (did not pay attention to the logo screen though). However, after I wiped the .rockbox folder and cleared my settings all was fine.

Another thought: if you use one of the custom builds that includes the brightness patch ... the default is normally 9 (compared to cvs rockbox set at a full brightness of 15). That can make things look pretty wonky...

Wasn't brightness ,no custom builds just daily builds & it was not the screen either (swaped it out, same prob). Plus the screen looks fine in apple,ipodlinux,ect... only rockbox is affected.                          hum???

You swapped the screen? You removed the screen and swapped it with another iPod Photo, or something?

My understanding is that there are two slightly different versions of the iPod photo (having different LCD controllers). I'm not sure how much difference this would make, but did you confirm that both were internally the same?

There are two and when I got the replacement screen I had to make sure witch version it was before I orderd from ipodmods.com
"Take your screen out and note the silver rectangle(s) on the right side of the screen. These silver rectangles are the drivers for the screen (right by the ribbon cable). If you have a screen with one rectangle then it is a Gen 2 screen, two rectangles for Gen 1 screen."
It is a Gen 1, so i'm kinda lost as to what to try next?

Out of curiosity, I just realized you're using Loader2.

Have you tried it with a recent official Rockbox bootloader and bleedng edge Rockbox build? Many version of Loader 2 caused color distortion in Rockbox, and it's possible you're either using one of those versions, or the bug crept back in.

I tried the rockbox bootloader first and it was distorted maybe I'll try a differnt version. I didn't try a bleedng edge build yet but I have tried other builds (mostly daily builds also a few custom builds) all distorted. Well we'll see what happens.   Thanks for the help so far I really appreciate it.
