nano menu problem

There seems to be a problem with the nano menu, when you press the center round button to go to the Copy, Paste, Playlist, Rename menu for a file. When I press the button it goes straight to the first item on the menu (which is playlist). It selects it automatically without letting me scroll down. If i have to scroll down I have to hold it down while using the touchwheel to go to another item (for example copy or rename). Anybody know why? It doesn't do that on my video or 4g ipod.
