_temp_codec0.dll not a valid window image???

(1/2) > >>

iPodFoo:
Hi,

Im trying to run the WPS simulator, but when i try to play a track. Windows displays an error:

"The application or DLL d:\temp\ipod stuff\ipod-nano-sim-32\ipod-nano-sim-32\archos\_temp_codec0.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."

It does it with _temp_code1.dll too. It also says "Loading Failure" or "Codec Failure" in the simulator screen.

Any ideas why its doing it?

Cheers.

Llorean:
Have you *just* installed a simulator? It sounds like you may have tried to extract a newer Rockbox build to the Archos folder which will not work.

Lear:
I get the same error, but only for the AAC codec it seems. With repeat on, the track actually starts playing after a few retries...

Don't know what the problem is really; maybe because the AAC codec file is so large?

orfax:
Doesn't the simulator cut the codec off at 512K if its larger.

I had a very similar situation when *trying* to create a mod codec, but the codec was too big. If I tried playing the codec, the _temp_codec0.dll was only 512k even though the codec was larger. Got the windows error and the codec failure error on the simulator screen.

Yotto:
I've found that *sometimes* going into the menu will bring up the error 6 times.  No more, no less.  After it goes away it stays away until you restart RockboxUI.
