HDD MP4 DivX Player
« on: August 21, 2006, 08:50:12 PM »
i found this spread on ebay.it's very cheap and i think i will consider it to be my car mp3 solution.
now i'm on Archos Jukebox Recorder @ 80GB.it very clumsy and dangerous to choose
a playlist. With this chinese toy ,connect to 7 inch LCD TFT monitor, control via infared remote,
Should it save my life ?

Anyway,i'm very addicted to Rockbox.Especially in car mode and connected to cigar lighter,
the music resume when engine start, pause when stop seamlessly.

Hopefully some of you guys here who have programming skill
and interested in this cheapo, will  find the way to port Rockbox to it. :)
i can be donater for the player. :)

...Just my daydreaming.

Shouldn't this be in the new ports forum?

How will using a remote over using the keys on your Archos keep you from crashing?  Esp. if you drop the remote under your seat.

The products I've seen like this have been HD enclosures with a little extra hardware for playing certain media files from the disk they enclose.

I suspect it's not even firmware upgradeable.

As for new ports, Rockbox is generally for portable audio players right now. That is neither portable (requiring a power supply) nor an audio player (it's actually intended to be hooked up to a monitor as a video playback device) so I'm not really sure it's the sort of thing even for port consideration.
