Rockbox taking forever to mount on Mac OS X

AFAIK it does have a reason. 'cause, as Llorean explained it before, it connects through the ipods' EMERGENCY disk mode, so the system probably does some routine checks before properly connecting.

It's not a Rockbox or iPod problem. It's a Mac OS X problem.

Doesn't just happen on OSX, my iPod can be very slow to mount with a lot of content on a Windows machine.

With the drive almost full of FLAC, even over USB2 it took about 1 1/2 minutes to mount in Windows XP. On my laptop and USB1... that can take a lot lot longer.

I often experience a long wait when connecting any fat32 ums device on mac os x. I don't even have an ipod. I don't for sure that these two things are related, but I suspect so and that sometimes os x just likes to give fat32 a good scan before connecting.
