Everything went fine until I tried to use it-

Hey guys, hope someone can help me out-

I followed the installation instructions for a 4G Greyscale Ipod, got the boot prompt thing after entering the command line code, installed rockbox itself with no issue, it's showing up in My Computer on the disk, but my ipod is still running the ipod firmware and I can't seem to get out of it. plz help!

You better have tried to reset your IPOD by holding menu + select

I certainly did. I'm not sure if it's working though, as it seems to be doing the same thing as it would if i simply held select.

So, when you restart your iPod, nothing acts different at all? It should show the Apple logo, then some text on a very light blue background, and then either go into Rockbox or Apple depending on how far you got.

Sometimes when you hold select + menu, you might be not pressing it properly - moving your fingers very slightly and so on. So try it a few times.
