Ive been looking and I have seen a way to upgrade the bootloader via rockbox but if I'm wrong please let me know. I was reviewing the ata nand controller the SST/SST55LD019C SST/SST55LD019a SST/SST55LD019b and SST/SST55LD019M. the c and m both support 32gb so I assume the SST/SST55LD019K also can also support at least that much. So apparently 2 128gb chips may have been ambitious but it says it can support 8 chips? weird, does that mean 8 32gb or 8 smaller capacity. The daughter board ipods are pretty finnicky, when I take off the daughter board to upgrade the chip solder chips on (even if they are the exact same chips I took of) it tells me to restore the ipod and no matter how much I mess with it I just keep getting busy signal. Eventually after messing with them enough and leaving them on charge for a couple days I can sometimes get them to restore with the original chips. So I will no longer use daughter board ipods. only problem is I only have 1 k9hag08u1m that was from one of the non working ipods, it appears to have a few bad blocks 25 to be exact lmao. I guess I'll have to buy some chips 32gb or smaller and see how they work. I message SST for a data sheet for the SST/SST55LD019K but ill have to call them on monday and see if they still have one (doubt it lol). also theres a good chance the k isnt a thing and its just a special chip they did for apple so nobody could figure out what it was. I wonder if my programmer can support it so I can figure it out I dont have an adapter for it tho haha.

You mean a table of allowed NAND chip IDs in the bootloader?  The bootloader is stored on the ROM chip, which I believe can be updated from inside rockbox (or at least it shouldn't be too hard to), although I'm not sure how hard it is to sign the image so that the apple firmware will accept the updated ROM.
Ya that's the one, first ill be satisfied with finding the table and editing it for now . Do you know of anyone who has? I saw a guy Ive read about people making dumps on linux4nano you can mess with aup.d but os.os I couldn't find much about messing with that in the report. Ive been dumping some more stuff via that report. It shows you can dump and upload most partitions except os.os as that needs to be signed and will brick your device. Be nice if I could find all the people ho contributed to that project.
so right now im at: find a way to get and edit that table or somehow edit the read id of the nand chip itself somehow. The unique id is easy to edit but i havent found a way to edit the read id.

I believe you can do that with ipodpatcher --write-aupd.

Awesome! Do you know who worked on the bootloader and on the aup chip implementing rockbox? it would probably help me a lot narrowing down where the nand table is. I see in the ipod n2g document and the wiki a lot of forum names like theseven and tof but I cant find them here or on github lol.

The older ipods were reverse engineered by the ipodlinux project.  Newer (Nano2g, ipod6g) was done by rockbox developers.  TheSeven is typically in our IRC channel, although I don't know that he or anyone else has necessarily looked at this so they may not be able to help you.
