Damn thats too bad....
I guess its time to go back to the OF as the FM is important to me along with the nice OF graphics it has.

Thanks for the quick and to the point answer.

No.

Actually, I remember JDGordon made a patch waaay back in January (or around then, at least); from what I remember, it wasn't a complete re-write as we'd hoped for, but it's a stop-gap until anyone gives the FM Screen any real attention.

It must be floating around on Flyspray somewhere ... perhaps jd himself can direct you to it.

This is GREAT news!!!!!
Does anyone know of a build that has this patch in it. I do not have the talent to go the build myself so I hope there might be on around.

I hate to raise the dead, but I was really curious if there was any news on this... or some reason this isn't in CVS yet.

Hey,
I dont really remembr which of those patches is which, but both are done in a fairly hacky way (iirc) and I think before graphical wps' came about s may not work any more.
anyway, I believe wps-ifying the radio and recordin screens are "priorities" (well, in the sense that if a patch comes about that works well it would be considered). So if you want this you need to find someone who can do the gruntwork.

I havnt looked at the radio code for quite some time, but assuming it hasnt changed, the best place to start is by cleaning up radio.c (iirc its horrible :p )

Pysco_maniac, that site is down and dead, I might revive it when I get my server going (hopefully next week)..

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

I suspect that people would agree that the Radio screen could be themed, but that the Recording screen should probably be static.

The recording screen is actually more a menu than a static screen, there are things on it you can adjust during playback, and it really shouldn't be rearranged when you change themes.

While reviewing the Radio stuff it might be worth thinking about what is needed (or maybe wanted) on the screen - for example I tried putting a signal strength indicator on the screen - as it turns out it didn't work (I think I know why now, might try again).

Another frequent request a while ago was for Peak Meters (this needs some clever stuff to route the audio to a place where the level can be measured)

Interestingly I've managed to survive without the sig strength meter, and the other folks have survived without peak meters so arguably they're not 'needed' ...

By the way there is an interesting Patch for a super radio plugin for iRiver here; http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/5448
