simple question on playlists and queuing
« on: August 16, 2006, 11:09:56 AM »
what's the easiest way to queue all your songs to be randomly played?  with the official x5 firmware from cowon this involves selecting a folder.. the x5 will traverse all subfolders and make a playlist... trying to do this with rockbox doesn't work for some reason - if i try to add all songs to a playlist a message flashes for a fraction of a second and the playlist remains unchanged....

Do you have the option to recursively insert directories enabled? Otherwise it doesn't traverse subfolders.

Enabling Dircache can speed this up significantly.

Defrag your player's HD beforehand also.

Defrag will do nothing unless you frequently delete files and add files afterwards.
