You follow the steps in the first post.

One of them is yes, copy the file to the root of the player.

well, i still get a file error message when i click on the attachment after i had saved it to my player. i have Alzip on my player and the attachment is a BIN file and the Alzip file looks like the Alzip icon, an egg, before you unzip it. when i try to unzip it or even just double-click on the icon, i get an error message.  im sure there may be something wrong with the attachment

Also....

Am i supposed to but a new bleeding edge build on the palyer as well or just leave the same build that was on the player when it got corrupted?

thx

Where in the first post does it say to click on the file on your player?

I still have no clue why you're trying to open the file by clicking on it. You're convinced the file is broken because you keep trying to do the wrong thing. Are you actually reading the first post? It only lists three steps.

ok. i did the first 2 steps, but there is no "Write EEPROM" in the Info>Debug> menu,  Only Dump.  Is this option only on a new bleeding edge? My rockbox build is from Aug.12th. never updated for a while coz the build is working great

If you notice, his post says that he has "added the EEPROM driver."

The post is dated Aug 16. This suggests that it wasn't in Rockbox prior to that date. So yes, you'll need to update.

Holding Rec and Play for longer that one thinks is necessary helps.
I ran into this (stupidly) thinking I was experiencing the problem described in this thread when in fact I was just not holding the buttons long enough.
Doh!  :P

Hello Petur,

Thanks a lot for your EEprom dump!

I had the problem of my H320 (firmware 1.29K) stuck in the "Loading" state when I was booting the original firmware.

Re-writing the EEprom following the procedure you gave in your post did solve the problem.

I guess this doesn't work with the unofficial builds from misticriver, I use the Norbusan build (taken over by Ashen with the multufont patches), and using Petur's EEPROM dump i get the error message: File Read Error (225).

I was hoping this would make the radio in OF work again, I'm happy with the Rockbox radio (in fact I only use the OF for video VERY infrequently), but it would be nice to have ALL options open!

I'd be happy to be told I'm wrong, and there is an EEPROM dump available for unofficial builds.

I'm forever grateful :).
It's not that I use the original firmware that often, it's just a better feeling that you know it will work when you need it.

thanks

Hi, I seem to have a problem with my original firmware on my h340.
when i boot into iriver firmware it reports that i have
0000 Folder(s)
0000 Song(s)

I cannot browse the disk just looks blank. But it isn't because i can browse fiine in picture mode and browser mode. (it also browses and plays fin in Rockbox)

in settings > General. None of the following respond
load default
firmware scan
DB scan

i have also tried deleting things in browser mode to force a rescan but this has not helped

i really need to get a working original firmware as i use it a lot for movies and USB hosting.

I found this thread which seems to suggest a fix for my problem but the  EEPROM BIN attacment on the orgninators post has expired and is no longer availbe

Can anyone help please ?
