Indeed, I also found this option which is a relief - I really dislike the new way, it makes navigating feel really slow.

However, now it is at least fixable it's not too bad I suppose...

actually it is..
use the write config option, then down the bottom there is a special value currnet let to on (cant rememebr the name, but tis blood obvious, its the 2nd last one or so), change it to off and reload the cfg file. l/r are back to before

ah yes its fixable, by hacking the config file.....cool. Remember to put that in the manual.

I agree with dunno, this is not a fix, it's a hack.
I could have disabled the feature myself in the code, but I would like to use it, with the optimisazions I (and others) suggested before in this thread.

I always thougt that every setting should be accessible via the menu, btw...

I agree, and find it very strange there's a setting that can't be changed from a menu.
