divx, xvid, mpeg etc playback on ipod video

(1/1)

henry:
I have tried to locate definatively if it is possible to playback the above formats on the ipod video, without much luck!

Could someone please confirm if this is possible with the rockbox firmware?

Thanks!

Bagder:
There's some early work on an mpeg video player:

Ok, cheers.

cool, some video support, now if the guys can figure out how to make audio play with it, and make it run smoother, itd kick apples unowat.

but just one thing, is it possible to convert the videos to have audio, cause i play them, on my computer, and there is no audio.

soap:
They have no audio because they (m2v) are an elemental stream.  Video only.
So converting them (m2v) to have audio isn't going to hapen, but you can also encode the audio stream as a m2a, and multiplex them together into the container format (.mpg, .ogm, .avi) of your choice.

The doom9.org forums are really a better place for this, I'll shut up now.
