Rockbox not reading WavPack APEv2 tags
« on: August 12, 2006, 01:20:28 PM »
When in Tag Cache, Rockbox doesn't seem to recognize WavPack's APEv2 Tags, showing it as <Untagged>. it does read Musepack APEv2 tags.
the .wv files have been encoded with no extra options, just 'wavpack foo.wav -o foo.wv'. I'm using linux, and files have been tagged with an app called Mp3Tag under wine. I thought this might be an issue, but XMMS shows the tags correctly with the Wavpack plugin.
Build is the Experimental iPod build with Julius plugins, on iPod Video 5G, 30GB.

any way how can this be solved? ???

Are you sure they're Apev2 tags? If I recall wavpack could also have a format of ID3 tag applied to it as well, and some taggers do this instead for some reason.

Also, of course, please check on an OFFICIAL build before posting a new thread with problems in the future. If the problems only happen on a modified build, post in that build's thread.

well, you're right about the build thing. I checked the latest official build now, and the problem is still there.

As far as I can see, the tags are Apev2. XMMS shows Apev2 in "file info", and also, when I tagged the files with Mp3Tag, I checked in the options that it's going to write it in Apev2 and not in ID3. so both the tagging app and xmms show it's Apev2.
