Battery charging

<< < (2/3) > >>

Llorean:
Yes, I know you have it plugged into an AC Adapter but it should still enter disk mode if you aren't holding any buttons down. You are using the Rockbox bootloader, installed by the method we put forward in the Wiki, and not some other bootloader, and are definitely running an official daily build from our daily build page, right?

fatherfork:
Is the battery meter moving up in succession like power is being added rapidly, then dropping back down and repeating?

FF

Llorean:
Okay, I've been told that your dock probably charges via firewire.

So, the next question is: What exactly is your question?
You plug your iPod in, and Rockbox tells you it's charging...

Sorry I wasnt clear before but yes my dock connector is via firewire connected to the a/c adapter, my question was is it normal for it to boot up into rockbox everytime I connect the dock connector directly to the Ipod to charge? I was expecting some kind of charging screen like apple firmware has.

Llorean:
No, Rockbox boots and charges in Rockbox. You *may* find that your iPod doesn't seem to be charging as quickly as it used to. If this is true, boot into the Apple firmware before you start charging.
