(1/1)

so i updated the daily build last night..i cleared the settings by putting the hold switch on while restarting....

Whenever i plug the ipod into the outlet, or the usb on my comptuer via the apple cable that came with the unit, and usb cable icon appears on the screen, and it autpmatically restarts...if i leave the plug in, it just continuously restarts over and over

sorry if this is a repsort, but i tried searching....

Hold the Menu button as you insert the charger.

No this is not a bug. It's been discussed many *many* times. Next time do a search.

It is advisable to do any connection or charging through the default Apple Firmware.

No, it is a bug.  Rockbox can't currently correctly distinguish between a USB connection to a wall charger, and a USB connection to your PC, so it always attempts to enter disk mode by rebooting into the ipod's emergency disk mode.

The workaround as mentioned is to start Rockbox without the charger attached and then, whilst holding the MENU button, insert the charger.  This prevents Rockbox rebooting into disk mode, and it should charge happily.
