iPod Lockups After 60 minutes of playback.

Got over the skipping music issue ... now the iPod is locking up after 60 minutes of playback. Second time it has done it. I've applied the iPod vulcan death grip (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IpodInstallation#Recovering_from_a_crash) in order to reboot.

Any ideas why this happens? Bug? Is there a workaround?

Could you provide more information?
Is it exactly 60 minutes, approximately 60, does it vary each time?

What format is the music? Does it freeze while reading from the disk, or while doing anything else specific that's consistent?

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I've checked it out and it seems just running the iPod doing absolutely nothing causes a lock up as well. I see "Data Abort" on the top LHS of the unit.

Charging up is another area where I get the lockup. Stick it on charge for > 60 minutes and it's vulcan death grip time.

I'm having a similar problem.

ipod locks up too ,but the time varies.  could be 30 mins of playback, could be after 2 hours of playback, doesn't need to be playing either, also locks up if doing nothing.  have not had a problem charging yet.

I'm using the daily build from June 11.

Mine has done that on occasion.  I just reboot it, and it seems to work fine after that.

I've upgraded to the latest CVS build ... and am now experiencing another issue in that the Pod is just randomly rebooting - it can be in the middle of a track or whilst on the charger.

Hope this helps...  I got a lock up after approx 30minute of playing time.  It was playing an MP3 file, 192KBPS.  I was also messing around with the setting.  I didnt change anything, i was just browsing with backlight on, and on duel puff 220x176 WPS.  30GB ipod photo HP.  It was at 1/3 battery, and i did not set the CPU Frequency.  It was at 0.  No EQ, no replaygain, no, crossfade, no crossfeed, was shuffing a 503 song playlist, and all of them are at 192KBPS mp3 and only a few 128KBPS mp3.

using last weeks daily build, mine freezes up every 5-30 minutes...could be during a song, could be during menu navigating...i know it wasn't a particualr song, becasue it froze during one song, then that song played again later and it didn't freeze...

i just loaded today's build, i'll let you know...
