Update 8/21: New iPod 5G WPS: Applebox.

you mean have them alternate on one or two lines? I opted not to do this because I'd like to see it all at once, and I don't really like alternating lines. Besides, I had some free space to fill.

I meant using a small font and having the song - artist - album be displayed in colums "exactly" like in itunes. im not thinking this through and ignoring the problems that come to my mind when i propose this though .

with some heavy patching you can use this as a backdrop and view your songs like in itunes, does anyone follow?

edit1: fuck it, i just tried it, it's genius. good work, but needs a backdrop.
a bar and mac osx background perhaps?

edit2: found bug, when you fastforward or rewind, the button screws up.

edit3: the buttons for ffw and rw should not be grayed out! They should simply become blue like in itunes when active.

edit4: the shuffle and loop buttons should be blue not gray. gray is not very visible.

I'm sorry, I have no idea. But I think this isnt the first time a theme as done this to me.. ah!, yes, MarkAlexander's Arctic Desert did that when he released the preview wps. Mabye you could ask him how he fixed it?

edit: Yes, everything works great, you won my heart this is my favorite theme.

Now, suggestions;
I take it you gave iTunes the graphite look: the ffw and rw buttons turn gray when pressed and the  shuffle/loop buttons were originally gray. Here comes the slight problem (for perfectionists):

The two dont match
The ffw and rw buttons should be blue when in action and once thats done. what about the apple?
Should it be graphite or aqua? If iTunes is graphite.

this is obviously a matter of taste and perfectionism for the theme is very *very* good as is.

Another thing it could use is a numeric volume display, yet that would minorly break iTune's simplicity.

Again, it's a matter of preferance. If there is specific feedback you would like just tell me.

edit: bad idea do distribute the darker progress bar seperatly, you should just update the whole package. (I'm  a perfectionist)

Also, anyone who has the latest build, download the new darker progress bar, and drop it in the "Applebox" folder in "WPS", replacing the current "progbar.bmp".

If they are then it's all good and it's just the iPod LCD, and I know about the apple so that's fine.

Will you be updating this to use the new album art system?

On a different note, this is my favorite skin, so I used it to learn a bit about how to create wps's.  I made a couple changes and additions, and while it's admittedly not as "clean" as the original, I opted for a bit more information on the screen.  Would you mind if I posted this "modified" version of your skin to the site when it's done?  I will of course give you full credit for doing all the "hard" work, but I though that others may like some of the changes I made.  I don't know what the protocol is for this sort of thing -- I'm just trying to contribute a bit.

If you're okay with me posting my "Modified" version, could you tell me what I would need to change in order to have the name show up differently in the wps list?  I tried adding onto the "Applebox" name in a few spots, but it didn't work on the iPod, so I'm obviously not changing the right things.  Exactly what changes do I need to make so that it shows up as something like (for example) "Applebox - Larry Mod" (I want to incorporate your original name so that it's clear that this is based on your theme.)

Also -- what's the easiest way to generate the screenshots that you post on the wps gallery page?

UPDATE:  I read up on the "Screendump" feature, so I figured out how to get the screenshot.

Will you be updating this to use the new album art system?

I "think" I figured this out based on an example I read in Senab's thread.  The problem is that I can't test it since my album art is all embedded in my files, and since Rockbox isn't able (yet) to use this art, or the art files that the native apple firmware uses.  All I know is that using my modified theme WITHOUT album art works fine.
