Rockbox Development > Starting Development and Compiling
cross compiler install via rockboxdev.sh on mac
lenny:
well while you guys were busy rewriting the shell script, I was manually trying to apply the patch to both gcc 3.4.6 and 3.4.4 to no avail. All it did was change the error message a bit. Anyway I'll probably have time to try the patched script tomorrow and I'll report back.
Also, out of curiosity, it seems the initial patch bagder pointed me to removes support for m68040 in gcc (because it's aparently getting messed up on that). Are there any current rockbox targets that run on that processor?

That's what it does, yes, and Barry's version of the script-patch uses an updated gcc-patch.
No, there's no Rockbox target using that CPU why that patch is safe to do for Rockbox developing.
lenny:
gcc compiled/installed just fine with rockboxdev-3.patch. I didn't test it on target but a CVS snapshot compiled just fine. you guys are great. thanks

I'm having problems again, but this time I was more resourceful and made a patch!
