Charging

I have a silly question.  I have a 5g 60gb.  Does my ipod charge when I plug it in to the USB on my computer while it is running RB?

Febs:
Yes.  When connected to USB, you should have an animated battery icon in the upper-right corner of the display that indicates that the player is charging.

So i don't need to hold 'menu' down when i plug the USB into the ipod?

If you want to stay in Rockbox, yep you do.  But if you want it to go into disk-mode (to move files, etc) then just plug it in and you're good to go.
