Finding my iPod
« on: July 31, 2006, 01:55:59 PM »
This question is preety stupid, but here it goes:
In the guide (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IpodInstallation) it says to type the following sequence of commands:

ipodpatcher 0
ipodpatcher 1
ipodpatcher 2
ipodpatcher 3

So I type ipodpatcher 0, a window appears and dissapears immediatly, so I can't read what it says. Every other number except no.1 will produce the same effect, but for no.1 it doesn't dissapear so fast, so I can read something like: "reading partition table ...". Then, after a second or two, more text is printed below, but window dissappears really fast so I can't read it.

Now the question. What happens when the iPod location is found. I mean, does it tell you that, without dissappearing so fast. Or is this dissappearing act happening because i use Windows Vista???

Thanks

O_O...

I belieive ipodpatcher1 is where your ipod is.  My the process of elimination, one, ipod, and 4 option.  IF one stick out from another, im guessing that is it.  You should try it with number 1.  And besides, it did said readin partition table.  So that means it is readin your ipod.

You should use the command prompt, like it said.
It doesn't say to type the commands into the Run window.
