usb charging for X5 in Rockbox?

<< < (3/4) > >>

paddlaren:
To be honest, on the X5 I would gladly offer the possibility in Rockbox to connect to USB in favor for letting it charge my X5 using USB.

If I need to connect to USB I can use the firmware for that since it works fine in my opinion.

Do I have to try to make this patch myself or is there anyone who actually knows how it should be done  ;)

paddlaren:
.... and combine the USB-charging with the Car Adapter Mode so that the X5 can be connected to a USB-charger all day at work!!!!!

This would be a nice feature!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

This is great news!

I installed the dailybuild for today (rockbox-iaudiox5-20060819.zip). I allowed it to switch of the HDD insteade of powersafe.

Do I have do trim the settings on any other way in order to get the Rockbox in parity with the Cowon firmware?

The USB charging while useing the X5 is still important since I use it for quite some hours a day and I have the 60GB version.... Much disk, no impressive battery  :'(

I would like a X5-60L, a 60GB disk and a long-life battery but I gues it would be big as a house  ::)

Set the backlight off to something reasonable, I use 5 seconds. Set the brightness as low as you can tolerate. Turn on dircache and set the harddrive spin-down time to something short, maybe 2-3 seconds. Try turning on LCD sleep when backlight is off, but there's not a lot of data yet on how much it helps.

edit: oh, and don't pay any attention to the estimated battery time left. It's completely inaccurate (I don't know why, but someone will probably fix it someday).

Thanx!  :D

I supose that the incorrect batery lifetime is the reason why we can use the batery-plugin and post the resultfil to the wikki. The resultfile will show statistcs that I suppose can be used as feedback to the algorithm of remaning batery lifetime.

One thing.... Maby this should be an own thread, and the tips you sent should be in the Wiki.-FAQ (My opinion).
