GUI Sounds - Headphone Click setting demo might have issue
(1/1)
questions2000:
iPod
Happens in recent developments builds around 20250610
I apologize if this does not make any sense, this might be an assumption.
Does not really matter to me and probably not to most users, but I try to mention anything I notice and mention to developers.
In the past it was brought to my attention that in the System - LCD Settings - Backlight setting for example, that each of the settings....
Never
Always
1 s
2 s
3 s
etc.
When the highlight/cursor is on that setting, that it performs a "demo" of how that setting will function (which is a clever idea).
For example, cursor on "3 s" will demo backlight on for 3 seconds.
It kind of seems like the following setting
Settings - General Settings - System - Keyclick - Headphone Click
Off
Weak
Moderate
Strong
is kind of trying to do the same thing, but instead of a visual like the backlight setting, it is being done with sound volume?
If this is true, it does not seem to be working as expected.
Obviously in this case it is difficult because the cursor has to be moved to generate a sound (rather then the backlight example just has to remain on the setting) which is probably the reason for this.
You can hear the changes in volume as you move cursor on each of these settings sometimes it does not seem to be correct.
I think I would remove the "demo" action from the "Off" setting which I think is the cause. Then I would make when the cursor is moved to the setting, it should play at the volume indicated by that setting.
So for example cursor from "Off" to "Weak" would play a weak volume click sound effect
"Weak" to "Moderate" would play moderate click sound effect.
Hope this helps
