Hi there,
After older iPod classics are not regognized anymore by MacOS Sequoia, I installed Rockbox 4.0.
(By the way with the RB Utility 1.5.0 (it was in the zip-File named 1.5.1) it did not work to install the bootloader, had to use a windows maschine for that)
For syncing to the iPod I use „iTunesExport“. It has playlist support. That all works well. The music files and the playlists files, I synced to the same folder: „Playlists“. Then all is regognized.
Nice Firmware, it gives my iPod a kind of new life. Thanks to all contributors!
I miss ratings though. The lyricsplayer is a bit awkward, but it works somehow.
So back to the main issue.
Album replaygain tags made by ReplayGainScan with Rockbox 4.0 are not recognised
The program ReplayGainScan seems to write the tags. When I do a re-scan, it says: album gain is already tagged. It is a GUI for mp3gain and aacgain (and some others).
I only found the not free BeaTunes and a command-line tool named rsgain that would do RGain tags.
In Rockbox, I checked in the settings: use albumgain. (also tried trackgain and the other, but it changed nothing)
When I use the WPS skin „SimplyRich“ it says there: „RGain = +0dB“. That was the only skin I could found, that would display the replaygain.
I mostly use mp3 and also aac. The issue is with both kind of files.
So I do not know, whether the skin or rockbox itself does not regognize the tags.
Can you provide help?
