I installed Rockbox on a Sansa Fuze V2 using the Rockbox utility. It installed successfully, but it was somewhat buggy, so I uninstalled it, again using the utility (the option to uninstall the bootloader was greyed out, however). I then downloaded the original firmware from
https://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaAMS.html and extracted it to my device. I booted the Fuze in the original firmware and completed the update, after which Settings > System Settings > Info listed the firmware version as V02.03.33A.
I then attempted to reinstall Rockbox. When the utility prompted me to install the bootloader, I selected the file
bootloader-fuzev2.sansa, which I had downloaded from the Sansa AMS page. I got the following error message:
Downloading bootloader file
Download finished (cache used).
[ERR] Original firmware unknown, please try another version. Tested Fuzev2 versions are: 2.01.17, 2.02.26, 2.03.31, 2.03.33
Could not load C:/Users/Name/Desktop/Rockbox/bootloader-fuzev2.sansa
Does anyone know why the utility would fail to recognize the firmware when it seems to be one of the supported versions? Are there any possible solutions that would allow me to reinstall Rockbox? Thanks in advance for your help!
