Recording enhancements from h120

I am thinking of upgrading my h120 to the 320. Are the awesome and incredible recording enhancements that were made for the 120 available in a rockbox version for the 320?

Yep! and actually now they are mostly in CVS (just AGC, histogram and fonts not there yet) Of course the H3xx players don't have optical in but apart from that the recording is identical.

Fonts and Histogram I can wait for. AGC is essential for what I do. I am assuming that I can probably apply a patch of some sort then. Thanks for the info.

The AGC is available as a patch in the tracker

let me/us know if it doesn't apply cleanly anymore against current CVS

erm, the recording enhancements patch is exactly the same for the H300s as for the H100s.
The only real difference is the lacking of optical, digital inputs.

AGC is awesome though. I recorded a 4h concert last weekend which turned out great.
The only bummer is that WAV recording takes away a lot of batt, and so does playback.
I am eagerly looking forward to the mp3 encoding plugin/patch functionality.

I still get 12h recording out of my one year old standard battery....
But I agree some compression will give more time though I will never use it unless it's lossless

You mighte also wanna check out the 'Experimental build' I do and release here It includes the Recording enhancements pack, I am currently waiting for a new patch to do a new build but I might fiddle a bit and see if I can get it to work myself soon (more a matter of time then capability ..)

Wow, out of my 2yo standard battery (H320) I get maybe an hour or so.
But thats with paulheus experimental build that contains the recording enhancement patch.

Don't know what that patch still contains these days, I figure it's AGC and histogram?
Both shouldn't affect runtime much.

I wonder how old the build is, as I introduced unboosted recording some time ago, greatly increasing recording time. But his build can't be *that* old

Maybe it includes some patch to stop recording when battery level reaches a certain point?

How's playback time?

My playback time is about 10h since the USB driver changes.
Could be that the patch introduces some kind of battery status checking *shrug*

alright, disregard.
For every HD access my player thinks the battery drains extremely fast. Maybe the battery is kinda weak and the voltage drops when there are peaks of current.
the player is like 2yo and has been used 2-3h a day
So i guess its time to consider a shiny new battery.
