512GB SD in iPod 6th-gen issues
sophiapack:
Hi,
I'm trying to install Rockbox on a flash-modded iPod 6th gen (model MD150LL). However, I've encountered numerous problems along the way. Where I'm at now is that the iPod has been restored using iTunes, and is reading 127GB (as is to be expected). However, that is all the device reads as. I was able to view the full 512GB capacity of the card inside earlier, but now I cannot, and any attempts to manually format the card fail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using more than 128GB in 6th gen is a tricky problem. I've always just decided not to bother and gotten a 7.5gen instead. But this thread might be helpful - you could try doing the same as was attempted here.

You'll find that all the information you need is in the forum if you use the search function.
However, the procedure can be as simple as:
Install the rockbox boot loader
Resize the partition
Copy rockbox to the partition

And NEVER EVER EVER boot into the Apple firmware (even disk mode) ever again.

This worked perfectly! I used another program to partition the disk, and Rockbox took a bit to load the partitions in, but I am now the proud owner of a 384GB iPod 6th gen! Thanks for linking me to this.
EDIT: P.S. Now if only I could get around the 4-partition limit imposed by MBR... oh well!
