T*H*A*N*K*S to Rockbox developers!
(1/1)
Doghouse Reilly:
It's been at least 6 months since I browsed the Rockbox site, and at least two years since I posted anything (had to create a new signon since I no longer remember my old password or what email I used...)
And lo and behold I find a new version, one which fixes an annoying bug on my treasured Sansa Fuzes (some themes would cause the player to panic when loading tracks). Wow! I can't imagine that I am the only one that suspected an April Fool, and so delighted to be wrong.
Lo and behold #2, I found that 4.0 is solid on a player which is actually still on the market! So now I am happily listening to playlists via Rockbox on my new HiFiWalker H2.
Words fail me, except for those in the title of this post.

My Sansa Clip Zip works vastly better with Rockbox and I'm so glad I took the time to install the sofware (took me about an hour or so, even though I'm a computer and electrical engineer :P).
I had the latest 1.1.21 firmware on my Clip Zip yet it would often freeze after the playback of a track. Worse still, it would keep running and draining the battery unless one would press the power button for 10 seconds to power it down. Also, the startup time was ridiculously long (Rockbox starts in 1 to 1.5 seconds) as was the shutdown time. In addition Rockbox will allow me to use larger MicroSD cards than the 32GB supported by the Sandisk firmware. 32GB is getting a bit cramped.
