iPod/Linux
From what I understand....
In "Dual Boot" mode
Apple bootloader in NOR memory -- loads RB bootloader off hard drive -- which then loads RB firmware off HD.
In "Single Boot" mode
RB bootloader is installed into NOR memory -- which then loads RB firmware off HD.
I like the idea of using Single Boot mode but have not tried it yet, but I was wondering what the benefits would be?
The only two things I can think of are.....
SINGLE BOOT MODE BENEFITS
-Because RB bootloader is loaded into iPod NOR memory I imagine it boots quicker.
-Allows to not have have Apple folders on HD
Dual boot seems like it could match these closely
DUAL BOOT MODE
-Already boots pretty quickly
-You can delete the Apple folders off HD (cannot fully dual boot but achieves this benefit of removing folders off HD)
I thought I read that maybe some other RB items might get installed into NOR memory as well, but not sure if this is true.
So I was wondering if there were any other benefits experienced when using Single Boot mode?
Thank You
