Hopefully putting this in the right place...
I am trying to use the SonyNWDestTool (scsitool-nwz-v27.exe) on WIndows 11 home to change the language on a japanese Sony NW-A55 that I picked up recently.
I had some issues at first with windows security allowing me to run the .exe, which I believe I am past, it's no longer popping up when I run the tool via the cmd prompt anyhow.
That said, when I run it, by typing C:\Users\...\Downloads>scsitool-nwz-v27.exe E: dest_tool get in the cmd prompt, I do not get the expected result. I should see the following:
Model: NW-A55
Series: NW-A50 Series
Destination: J (0)
Sound pressure: 1 (on)
instead, nothing appears to happen.
So I am not too sure where I might be going wrong. There is a prompt on the walkman (in japanese) which google translate tells me is about not being able to use the walkman while connected for transfer via usb. If I acknowledge this message, the walkman disconnects from the computer and I can no longer see it as a drive. and of course the prompts don't work.
This is supposed to be a brand new walkman from Japan, and I am not sure if there are any settings somewhere causing me problems...
Figured I would make a post here to see if anyone has any suggestions before I try installing some mrwalkman firmware. I would prefer to use this in a more stock form.
Thanks!
