ipod Mini 2 with the latest RockBox does not play songs, or skips them
(1/1)
EHOT:
Good afternoon, when installing the latest version of RockBox (20250216) on an iPod Mini 2 with the original SanDisk SD card, I found that I could not start playing songs.
I downloaded 100GB of my flac music (which works fine in classic 7), and then tried to start any of the songs. Instead, it started the song for a second and immediately returned me to the music list.
I tried moving about 10 GB each in one folder and using it on another computer running windows 7 and HDD - this fixed the situation a little, but not quite.
For example: I moved the folder with the album with 10 songs, where only 2-3 songs start and it skips all the others, saying that the playlist is over.
In all cases, I pre-created the database. I started the songs from the explorer inside the rockbox. I also tried transferring music through the running rockbox, through stock OS, as well as from disk mode - the result was always the same. It either doesn't play any songs, or 2-3 out of 10 in the album. I also checked the CF card through Victoria and it found no bad sectors in it.
PS: Sorry for my English, I don't know it and I write through a translator, this is also my first time on this forum and I apologize for the incorrect content of the topic, it's difficult for me to navigate an unfamiliar segment of the Internet.

Questions:
1) Did the file play on a ipod7g with the same build (ie 20250216)?
2) Did the music _start_ playing, then stop/skip to a later track?
3) What are the specifics of the FLAC files? (eg bitrate, channels, frequency, embedded album art, etc)
If you can identify a specific file that always fails, I suggest you file a bug ticket, and attach the file (or supply a link to it) and we can dig into that further.
EHOT:
Greetings, friend. I would like to express my deep gratitude in advance for the help and implementation of the RockBox project!
Here is my reply to you - to the previous message:
1) My iPod Classic 7 on RockBox - 250127. But that's not what I meant, but the fact that I downloaded music in flac from it that works without problems.
2) The music starts for a split second on the screen in the form of a player and returns immediately to the list, no sound is played in the headphones.
It automatically jumps to 3/5/7 songs in an album of about 12 songs. This happens in different ways in each folder of albums by different artists. (My music structure is a simple sorting by folders of each artist, inside which there are folders with different albums)
The bottom line is that it skips some songs but can play the next one. Out of 10 songs, only 3 can work, and after switching between them, he writes that the playlist is over.
3) I don't understand the quality and difference of individual music files well, since I download everything in flac format, as it is the most widespread. I don't use conversion from other formats.
However, I studied a neighboring topic where Mr. "iPodVT" wrote about a similar problem, and on his advice, I rolled back RockBox on iPod Mini 2 to version "20250208" and everything worked as It is necessary. All the music started working properly and there are no problems with skipping files. Any songs are played without problems.

So it works with an older build. This is more important than the device itself.

FYI, "no sound" means the music did NOT start.

Do the same songs fail or play, or does a given song work sometimes but not other times?

Please check the 20250209 build. If that succeeds, try subsequent builds until you find the one where the failures start. However if 20250209 fails, it is most likely due to a change to how embedded album art is extracted from FLAC files. We will need one of the failing files to diagnose this properly though.
