MacOS installer for 1.5.1 thinks it's 1.5.0

I installed version 1.5.1 in MacOS, but when I open it, it says the current version is 1.5.0 and a newer version 1.5.1 is available. Was 1.5.0 maybe mistakenly packaged as 1.5.1 for MacOS? How can I get the latest version?

This has been known for some time:

Are you unable to use the utility regardless of its version?

Hello together! Ive also just joined to flag this as a problem.

Yes , it 100% effect its use on a Mac, and makes the program unusable.

I cannot find a reference to it, but isnt one of 4 changes from 1.5.0 to 1.5.1 "fixed permission denied on macOS"?
id really like to experience that. I can confirm that no, it's not possible to do some iPods on 1.5.0 and Macos.

I see these 2 (empty) threads that were mentioned, but has there not been a bug report on this?

philden:
Does the installer work for you if you run it from the Terminal with 'sudo'?

Jet Alone:
Let me check on my Intel Mac in a few moments.

I will say that Windows w/ Parallels works on modern Macs (including m series) on 1.5.1 without issue. As does iTunes (site download).
Just for anyone that may read in the future. That is how ive been getting by.
