Sansa E250R Best Buy Edition? No luck loading Rockbox Firmware.
(1/1)
SmokeyPete:
I'm having a ton of issues with the Sansa e250R. Sansa Original FW version 1.0.2.31.
I loaded the unsigned USB drivers into Windows 11 64-bit successfully and now see "Sansa e250R (F:)" and I have been able to copy the .rockbox folder to the root of the F: drive. I also un-hid the hidden "system" folder also on F:.
I then renamed pp5502.mi4 to OF.mi4 and placed it into the formerly hidden F:\System.
I also took the same file pp5502.mi4 and copied it onto F:\ without renaming it.
I suspect that I originally purchased this unit as the "Best Buy" version back eighteen years ago which is causing me issues but this is a bit frustrating.
It looks like the installer does little more that copy files around but for some reason the installer itself can't see my Sansa USB device though Windows can.
Very importantly, there is no USB Mode with ""MSC" or "MTP" option on my player. The mode option only allows for "Rhapsody" or "PlaysForSure"
Thanks in advance.
Frankenpod:
I don't have that player, though it seems issues like this have come up before, dunno if any of it would help?

The e200R has to be converted into a normal e200 first: https://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaE200RInstallation.html
