Most themes not displaying right on Surfans F20

Hello there,

I am back using rockbox after an absence  of 15y.... and pun not intended, but you people really rock! Seeing an active, vibrant community like you is the reason that make me love free/libre software! <3 <3 <3

I got myself a 2nd hand Surfans F20, and rocked it with a native/nightly build. Downloaded a few themes that say "works with current dev build" from https://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?target=aigoerosq

- Most themes do not work, although sometimes alter the color scheme, they display a same default garbled theme, where all elements seem compressed towards the top of the screen
- One works partially: center art https://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?themeid=1307&target=aigoerosq but all minimal graphical elements are replaced by lines of dotted squares (see attached files)
- surprisingly a few work, among them some rather complex ones like iRetro, with full of graphical and even animated elements, or dancepuff... so it seems like it's not a question of lack of resources...

Hence my questions to you:

- Is that a known issue? Is anybody else experiencing the same?
- How to diagnose this? Where to look? Are there logs upon loading themes, or something like this?
- Does anyone know how to know which themes work and which do not?

Could you be missing some fonts?

Try installing the extra fonts from https://www.rockbox.org/wiki/RockboxExtras

I installed https://www.rockbox.org/realwiki/pub/Main/RockboxExtras/anti_aliased_fonts.zip which seems to be containing everything i need...

What else can I be missing?

Also i don't know if it's relevant or not (video memory size maybe?) but my hardware revision is hw2 (a firmware version 2.7)
